Founded in 2002 by IT trade press veteran Paul Desmond, PDEdit employs a formula for success honed during Paul’s years as an editor for leading trade press publications including Network World, Redmond and Redmond Channel Partner. As news editor at Network World, Paul worked with an internal staff of reporters to create a fresh mix of breaking news, analysis and user profile stories each week. At Nework World, Redmond and Redmond Channel Partner, he built a stable of freelance writers that could collectively handle the gamut of technologies that those publications cover. The same idea – teamwork – drives PDEdit today.
PDEdit is a virtual company, meaning we don’t have staff that we need to keep busy on whatever project comes along. Rather, we bring to bear specialized expertise on every project. Paul handles many writing projects himself, or chooses the best contractor for that particular job, providing his editorial expertise and project management skills along the way.
Paul has been involved in the IT trade press since 1988 when he joined Network World, which was launched only two years prior. In his 11 years there, Paul helped grow the publication into the network industry mainstay that it is today. During his stints as news editor and features editor, Paul’s teams won numerous editorial excellence awards from organizations including the Business Press Association and the American Society of Business Press Editors.
In 1999, Paul joined his brother, John Desmond, in helping King Content launch the ecomSecurity.com Web site, which was sold to INT Media Group (now Jupitermedia) in early 2002. He was also instrumental in the October 2004 relaunch of Microsoft Certified Professional magazine as Redmond magazine, serving as editor of Redmond. At the same time, he served as founding editor-in-chief of Redmond Channel Partner magazine, the first publication dedicated to serving the needs of Microsoft channel partners. Under Paul’s leadership, Redmond Channel Partner won the 2006 Jesse H. Neal Award for best start-up publication.
Paul founded PDEdit to serve the editorial needs of IT trade press publications and advertisers alike. Find out how PDEdit can help get your message across.
